Kenneth E. Davis is a Managing Director of Duane Morris Government Affairs LLC.
His experience includes developing grass-roots legislative communications systems, publishing legislative and political newsletters, creating political education programs and establishing political action committees.
Early in his career, Ken was a senior legislative and administrative assistant to Senator Hugh Scott in Washington, DC. Subsequently, he was named Director of Government Relations for Rohm and Haas, the Philadelphia-based chemical manufacturer. Ken represented the company at the federal, state and local levels of government as well as to selected foreign governments.
Following his experience in the private sector, Ken held key posts in the administrations of state and city governments. He served on the Transition Team for former Gov. Tom Ridge, where he was charged with review of the Commonwealth’s Department of Labor and Industry, and held positions on other sub-cabinet boards and commissions for the Ridge administration, such as the Pennsylvania Economic Development Financing Authority. Ken was a member of former Mayor Edward G. Rendell’s Private Sector Task Force on Management and Productivity, and directed and wrote a study of the city’s commercial and economic development policies. Governor Rendell has since appointed him to Pennsylvania’s Ben Franklin Technology Development Authority.
With the introduction of gaming in Pennsylvania, Ken has taken an active role in the implementation of the new law. His knowledge of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board and the legislators who crafted the statute make him a valuable resource to those interested in entering this exciting new industry.
Ken earned a B.A. in political science from Moravian College and an M.A. in government from American University. He holds leadership positions in a number of trade, professional and civic associations in Washington, DC, Philadelphia and Harrisburg. In Montgomery County, he chairs the Community Revitalization Board. He was a member of Lower Merion Township’s elected Board of Commissioners, on which he served as president, and continues to serve as Chairman of its Open Space Committee. In addition, Ken was Chairman of the Montgomery County Republican Committee.
